| Question: |
| How do I select the frequency on the B500MF? |
| Answer: |
| The frequency can only be changed on system power up.
During the power up wait period (5 seconds) depress the COM key. The SET FREQ menu will be
displayed. Use the Up and Down Arrows to select the appropriate frequency:
33KHz,40KHz,50KHz,200KHz then depress ENTER to select. The frequency is stored in Battery
backed RAM and does not need to be set again when the system is powered on (Unless the
Replaceable Battery on the CPU PCB has gone dead, and will need to be replaced). |

| Question: |
I'd like to know how to reset the date of the Bathy-500
on Jan 1 year 2000.
What page of the technical manual explain how to do it?
Thank you, A.C. |
| Answer: |
Hello A.C.,
The information you are looking for will be in the "OPERATION" Section 3.
Under the DATA KEY section 3.3.1 or 3.3.2 (depending if you
have a Bathy 500
or Bathy 500MF manual). Here are the basic steps.
1) Power on the Bathy 500, once the system has booted, do the following.
2) Depress the DATA key, this will bring you to the status display page.
2) Depressing the DATA key a second time calls the second page for this
key; This page allows the user to "SET TIME & DATE".
3) Use the "Arrow" < > keys to advance the date, and time.
4) Depress the DATA key to move from month to day, to year, etc,
5) To accept and set the changes, depress the "ENTER" key.

| Question: |
| When I turn on my Bathy-500 it locks up where the keypad
appears to stop working and will not transmit. Why? |
| Answer: |
| It is most likely a corrupt flash device. It is U7 on
the CPU (p/n is 8583, an 8 pin device in a socket). It can usually be reset by removing it
and shorting out all the pins to each other (simply place device legs down on metal chart
frame) then replacing it back into the socket. You do need to check all the parameters
after doing so. This was a bug in earlier systems. We recommend upgrading to a
Bathy-500MF. |
