The Bathy 1500 is a dual frequency sounder expected to set a new
standard for hydrographic surveying into the next century. It is a full function
instrument, with features usually found only in much more expensive units. Transducers, at
frequencies of 12, 24, 33, 40, 100 and 200 KHz, can be purchased at prices beginning at
$400 USD to complete the system. Operational depths are from 0.5 m to a maximum of 5,000
meters depending on frequency and transducer selected.
|
 | Ping rates to 14/sec, resolution to 1 cm, and adjustments for
sound velocity and tide/draft, along with a roboust bottom detection and tracking
algorithm combine to provide an instrument which meets IHO accuracy requirements for
single beam echo sounders.
|
 | NMEA 0183 compatible interfaces for GPS, as well as interfaces for
heave compensation, external annotation, and remote depth display are standard. Versatile
digital output formats are selectable for all popular surveying/data logger systems.
|
 | The Bathy 1500 is CE qualified, allowing unrestricted sales within
European Union countries. |
|
The Bathy 1500 relies on
advanced, reliable microprocessor electronics for robust hands-off operation. Graphic
depth traces are displayed on a large backlit LCD display. Data is stored in an internal
non-volatile memory for playback on ink-jet or thermal printers via a standard centronics
interface. A real time thermal paper recorder is also available. The processor display
unit can be bulkhead or rack mounted. 1.4 Gbyte of external storage, or thermal chart
recorder, is optional. |
